Blackfish was decommissioned may 11, 1946 and palced into Fleet reserve. She was recommissioned May 5, 1949. On May 19, 1954 Blackfish was placed out of commission for the last time. She was struck from the Ships Lists on September 1, 1958. Blackfish was sold for scrap on May 4, 1959.
