*Guardfish thought she was sinking a Japanese Submarine. While the target was sinking Guardfish realized her mistake and rescued all but six of the crew.
**Official enemy ships and tonnage.Guardfish was decommissioned and struck from the Ships Lists on June 1, 1960. Guardfish was sunk as a target by the USS Dogfish SS 350 and the USS Blenny SS 324 on October 1, 1961, 97 miles south of Block Island.
