+Some dispute as to ships identity
# This was the ex-USS LUZON. Some accounts say she was towed to Manila and scuttled Feb. 3, 1945.
Narwhal made 15 war patrols. Made many special ops patrols landing and picking up troops and supplies. She used her 2 6" deck guns to good effect on Japanese shore installations.
Narwhal was de-commissioned April 23, 1945 before the war was even ended. She was and old but valiant ship that's time had come to an end. There were many new and far better equipped submarines coming down the ways.
Narwhal was awarded 15 Battle Stars for her war effort. She was scrapped November 16, 1945.USS Narwhal SS 167
