Queenfish was de-commissioned on August 1, 1952 and placed in Fleet Reserve. She was re-commissioned June 1, 1954 and remained in service until March 1, 1963 when she was again de-commissioned and struck from the Ships Lists. Queenfish was sunk as a target by the USS Swordfish, SSN 579 on August 14, 1963.
